Royal Biodata

Jain marriage biodata

Start from this page and your biodata opens with ॥ जय जिनेन्द्र ॥, with fields for your sect and food habits already in place. You can change the line at the top to anything your family prefers.

Jain families often look for a match within the same sect and community, and food habits matter more than in most biodatas. The horoscope fields are there if your family uses them; leave them empty and they will not print.

Details Jain families usually include

Sect
Shwetambar, with its Murtipujak (Derawasi), Sthanakvasi and Terapanthi traditions, or Digambar. Many families prefer a match within the same sect, so put it near the top.
Community (samaj)
For example Oswal, Porwal, Shrimali, Agarwal Jain or Khandelwal. Add it as your own field if your family considers it.
Gotra
Some Jain communities follow gotra rules for marriage. Include it if yours does, and leave it out if not.
Food habits
Often the first thing a Jain family asks. Be specific: Jain food without onion, garlic or root vegetables, vegetarian, or whether you follow chauvihar (no food after sunset).
Native place
Many Jain families trace their roots to Rajasthan or Gujarat even when settled elsewhere. Your native place helps families find people they know in common.
Religious practice
Optional, and best kept for About me: daily pooja or samayik, Paryushan fasts, or pathshala studies.

Writing the family details

Father's occupation
Many Jain families run a business. Say what kind and where, for example “diamond trading, Mumbai” or “textile manufacturing, Surat”.
Maternal family
The maternal grandfather's or uncle's name and town. Families often use it to find people they know in common.
Brothers and sisters
How many, married or not, and what they do, including whether a brother has joined the family business.
Where the family lives
Your native place and where you are settled now, if they differ: “Native place Bikaner, settled in Kolkata”.

How families narrow down a match

Families often look at sect first, then community, then gotra. Some also prefer a family from the same region, such as a Marwari, Gujarati or Maharashtrian Jain family, because customs and food differ between them.

If any of these does not matter to you, say so in your partner expectations, for example “sect no bar”. It widens the families who will reply, and saves time for those who would otherwise hold back.

Biodatas for a parichay sammelan

Many Jain samaj groups hold introduction meets, called parichay sammelan, where families exchange biodatas and the organisers print them in a booklet. A clean one-page biodata with a clear photo stands out in those booklets.

Download the A4 PDF if the organisers print the booklet, or the image if they collect biodatas on WhatsApp. Keep the same biodata saved in the maker so you can update it before the next meet.

The line at the top

॥ जय जिनेन्द्र ॥ is set for you. Many families use the first line of the Navkar Mantra instead, ॥ णमो अरिहंताणं ॥, or simply ॥ श्री ॥. You can type any line you prefer, or leave it empty.

About me: examples for a Jain biodata

  • I follow Jain values in daily life and eat Jain food. I am a chartered accountant in Mumbai and enjoy reading, travelling and volunteering at our samaj events.
  • Simple, calm and close to my family. I keep the Paryushan fasts and enjoy music, cooking and short treks with friends.
  • Cheerful and grounded, I balance a busy career in Ahmedabad with time for family and pathshala. I like badminton, reading and visiting tirths with my parents.

Partner expectations: examples

  • Looking for an educated partner from a Jain family, preferably Shwetambar, who follows Jain food habits.
  • A kind, well-settled partner who respects Jain values and both families. Sect no bar.

Make it in a few minutes

  1. 1Tap Make my biodata on this page. Jai Jinendra, Sect and Food habits are already set up.
  2. 2Fill in your details, add a photo, and add a Community field if your family uses one.
  3. 3Pick a design; the lotus of Kamal and the other florals suit many Jain families.
  4. 4Download the PDF for printing or a parichay booklet, and the image for WhatsApp.

Before you send it

  • Check the sect and food habits once more; they are what Jain families read first.
  • Use the same spellings of names and surnames as on any matrimonial profile.
  • Keep a copy without a photo if your family prefers to share it only after the first call.

Questions

What should a Jain marriage biodata include?

Your sect, community and gotra if your family uses them, food habits, education and work, family details, native place, a few lines about you, and a contact number. Most open with Jai Jinendra or the Navkar Mantra.

Should I mention Shwetambar or Digambar?

Yes, if your family prefers a match within the same sect. Write it in the Sect field, with your tradition if you like, such as Shwetambar Sthanakvasi.

How do I write Jain food habits?

Plainly and specifically: “Jain food, no onion, garlic or root vegetables”, “Vegetarian”, or “Jain food, follows chauvihar”.

Which line goes at the top of a Jain biodata?

Jai Jinendra is the most common. The first line of the Navkar Mantra, ॥ णमो अरिहंताणं ॥, is also widely used.

Do Jain families match horoscopes?

Some do and many do not. The horoscope fields are in the maker if you need them; if you leave them empty, they do not appear on the biodata.

Can I use this biodata for a parichay sammelan?

Yes. Download the A4 PDF for a printed booklet, or the image if the organisers collect biodatas on WhatsApp.

Should I mention my community, such as Oswal or Porwal?

If your family looks for a match within the community, yes. Add a Community field in personal details; otherwise leave it out.

Can I keep separate biodatas for different family groups?

Yes. Duplicate your biodata in My biodatas and change the copy, for example the photo or contact person. Both stay saved on your device.
