Royal Biodata

Marriage biodata format in Word

A Word file is the easiest biodata to change later: correct a spelling, update a job, or let a relative add a line. Download one of the free formats below and fill it in, or fill in your details on this site and download your biodata as a ready-made Word file.

Each format is one A4 page with the headings families expect, a box for your photo, and dotted lines to type on. They open in Microsoft Word, Google Docs and WPS Office, on a computer or a phone.

Free Word formats to download

To make your own, use the button above: your details replace the sample in every design.

How to fill in the Word format

  1. 1Download the format in English, Hindi or Marathi. The headings are already written; only the details are left for you.
  2. 2Open it in Microsoft Word, Google Docs or WPS Office. On a phone, Google Docs and the Word app are both free.
  3. 3Click on the dotted line next to each heading and type. Replace “Your full name” with your name.
  4. 4Delete any row you do not need: right-click it and choose Delete rows. A shorter biodata is easier to read.
  5. 5Click the photo box, delete it, and insert your photo in its place (more on photos below).
  6. 6Save it as a PDF before you send it, so it looks the same on every phone.

Or make it here and download it in Word

If you would rather not fight with tables and photos in Word, fill in your details here and let the maker lay them out.

  1. 1Open the maker and choose English, हिन्दी or मराठी.
  2. 2Type your details and add a photo. Every design updates as you type.
  3. 3Pick a design, then tap Word next to PDF and Image.
  4. 4Your Word file downloads with your details, your photo cropped to the design's frame, and the design's colours. A second page, if you add one, comes too.

Word, PDF or image: which to use

Word
For changing it later, or for a relative to check before it goes out. Anyone can edit it, which is also why it is not the best file to send to other families.
PDF
For sending and printing. It looks exactly the same on every phone and printer, and it cannot be changed by mistake.
Image
For WhatsApp chats, where it opens straight away as a picture.
All three
Keep the Word file for yourself, send the image on WhatsApp, and share the PDF when someone asks for a copy to print.

Adding your photo in Word

Click the photo box, press Delete, and leave the cursor where the box was. Then choose Insert, then Pictures, then This Device, and pick your photo. In Google Docs it is Insert, then Image, then Upload from computer.

If the photo pushes the text around, right-click it, choose Wrap Text, then In Line with Text. Drag a corner, never a side, to resize it, so your face is not stretched. Picture Format, then Crop, trims it to a portrait shape.

Use a recent photo of just you, in daylight and against a plain wall. A photo straight from your phone's gallery is sharper than one forwarded on WhatsApp.

Typing Hindi or Marathi in Word

On a Windows computer
Add the Hindi or Marathi keyboard in Settings, under Time and language, then switch between keyboards with the Windows key and the space bar. Type in English letters and choose the Hindi word, or type directly in Devanagari.
On a phone
Gboard and the Samsung keyboard both have Hindi and Marathi. Add the language in the keyboard's settings, then type in Word or Google Docs as usual.
The right font
Our formats use Nirmala UI, which comes with Windows and Office. If you see empty boxes instead of letters, select the text and change the font to Nirmala UI or Mangal.
Mixing languages
Many families write the headings in Hindi and names or degrees in English. That works fine in the same Word file.

Keeping it to one page

  • Delete the rows you leave empty instead of leaving them blank.
  • Keep About me to three or four lines.
  • Do not go below 10 point text; families often read biodatas on phones.
  • Check File, then Print, before you save the PDF. The preview shows exactly what fits on the page.
  • Move extra photos or your kundli to a second page instead of shrinking everything on the first.

Common Word problems, and fixes

The photo jumps around when I type
Set its wrapping to In Line with Text, as above. It then behaves like a large letter and stays put.
Table lines show up when I print
Click inside the table, open Table Design, then Borders, and choose No Border for the outer lines. Our formats only print the dotted lines you type on.
It spilled onto a second page
Delete empty rows, shorten long answers, or reduce the space before headings. A blank row at the very end can also push a page over.
It opens as read-only on my phone
Downloaded files often open in a viewer first. Tap Edit, or Save a copy, to make changes.
It looks different in Google Docs
Docs uses slightly different fonts and spacing. Fill it in where you will finish it, and download a PDF from there.

Saving it as a PDF before you send it

In Word on a computer, choose File, then Save As, and pick PDF as the file type. In the Word app on a phone, tap the three dots, then Export or Print, then Save as PDF. In Google Docs, choose File, then Download, then PDF document.

Send families the PDF rather than the Word file. A PDF keeps your layout on every phone, and nobody can change a detail by accident before it is forwarded.

Word files from the designs

The Word download uses a clean layout in your chosen design's colours: Word cannot draw the ornate borders, arches and florals, which stay in the PDF and the image. It is free with Saral and Sada, and comes with the ₹49 unlock for the other 50 designs and the second page.

Questions

Is the Word biodata format free to download?

Yes. The blank formats in English, Hindi and Marathi and the filled-in sample on this page are free, with a small line at the bottom naming our site that you can delete.

Can I change my biodata after downloading it in Word?

Yes, that is what the Word file is for. Change anything in Word, or change it in the maker and download a fresh file.

Does the Word biodata open on a mobile phone?

Yes. Open it in the free Word app, Google Docs or WPS Office. Tap Edit if it opens in a viewer first.

Why does my Hindi text show as empty boxes in Word?

The font in use has no Devanagari letters. Select the text and change the font to Nirmala UI or Mangal.

Can I get the decorated designs, with their borders, in Word?

The Word file uses a clean layout in your design's colours, because Word cannot reproduce the drawn borders. For the full design, download the PDF or image.

Should I send the Word file or a PDF to the other family?

Send a PDF or the image. Keep the Word file for yourself, so you can update it later.

Is there a Word format with a photo box?

Yes. Every format on this page has a passport-size box at the top right of the personal details. Replace it with your photo.

Will my biodata look the same in Google Docs as in Word?

Very nearly. Fonts and spacing can differ slightly, so check it before you save the PDF.

Ready to make yours?

Your details appear in every design as you type. Nothing is uploaded.
